What personal information do we collect
We collect personal data relating to our congregational members, supporters, users of our services, staff and volunteers. The personal data we collect will vary depending on how people connect with us, and the services used. We will only collect data that is relevant, accurate, adequate and limited to what is lawfully necessary in relation to the purpose for which it is processed. Website usage information is collected using cookies. We will normally process your personal information on the basis that we have your consent to do so. We may also process some of your personal information on the basis that we believe there is a legitimate interest for us to do so.
Why do we collect this information?
Congregational Members and Supporters – we gather your contact information and use this to tell you more about what is within CCR, CCM and CCB and other appropriate organisations we think are relevant to our work and community.
We keep financial records of giving for our accounts and to be able to make associated HMRC gift aid claims. We provide bank details for you to make standing orders for any giving and offerings, sometimes at events we offer the opportunity to make donations by card. To do this we use SumUp to process the card donation, we do not keep card details only the finance record of payment being made.
We collect information for children, including relevant medical information attending groups so we can have good safeguarding measures in place and keep them safe.
We want to ensure that good pastoral care is provided to those that are journeying with CCR, CCM and CCB so we use information gathered for this and to monitor engagement with the various congregations and other connections points (such as Community Groups, other gatherings and events). We want to help develop community connection and use your information to promote events, groups and other various activities we organise. We might also contact you to conduct research and ask for feedback about our services or potential new services we might offer.
The Corner hirers and other building users – we gather relevant contact information in order to fulfil contractual or other legal obligations of various booking and hire of rooms at The Corner. This is used to keep you informed of any services we offer and any changes to the contract, this might be by e-mail, phone, messages or social media as appropriate.
We also record any information required for health and safety (including accident forms etc.) and insurance details as appropriate.
We use Square to process card payments within The Corner Coffee House, we do not keep card details only the finance record of payment being made.We might also contact you to conduct research and ask for feedback about our services or potential new services we might offer.
CCTV – we operate CCTV cameras at The Corner site for the purpose of safeguarding the safety of our staff, visitors and property. We use these images on the basis of a legitimate interest in the prevention, investigation and detection of crime and for the prosecution of any offenders.
Project Clients – we will initially use the information we collect from you to contact you to arrange an appointment, invite you to a meeting or to provide you with details of our services. We will then use your information to provide you with any service(s) we have agreed with you. We will use your information to remain in contact with you for support and record your ongoing progress.
We may use our clients’ information for the following legitimate interests: to contact you with information about other services we offer that may be suitable for you, or to invite you to take part in research and feedback in relation to our services. We may also contact you to invite you to any free events that we may run from time to time, if we consider that they might be suitable for you. We might also contact you to conduct research and ask for feedback about our services or potential new services we might offer.
Our projects:
CAP Debt Help – we work with Christians Against Poverty as an agent to gather information to be able to help with your financial situation, you will be provided with their data protection policy and privacy notice when you start to work with them.
CAP Money – we gather your contact information when you register to attend a course, this is used to keep you informed of meetings, any changes and signpost you to other services we offer. We will share your e-mail address with CAP to provide you with access to the budget tool – we will gain your consent to do this.
Fresh Start – we gather your contact information when you register to attend a course, this is used to keep you informed of meetings, any changes and signpost you to other services we offer.
topUP - we collect contact information so we can contact you, arrange appointments and stay in contact with other services. We gather other information including housing association and result of awards for our reporting. In the process of making an application for different benefits with you we may know some of your financial and health details, these are kept securely for as long as needed in supporting you with your applications.
Parenting Together – we collect your contact details and details of your family (number and ages of children) to be able to tell you about suitable events and give reports to funders (these are anonymous).
Job applicants and volunteers – we will use the information we collect from you to process and consider your application. Your information will only be shared with staff who will be involved in the selection and recruitment process. We will only request a reference or a DBS disclosure with your prior consent.
